Great Services On Offer At Dublin Airport

By Michael B. Waters

Notwithstanding the proven fact that Ireland is a fairly small country it has one of the most important airports in Europe. Dublin Airport is the biggest in the country and provides internal flights and international flights to many destinations across the world. A recently opened new terminal has improved the service and facilities that are available and it's an excellent place to travel into before exploring the city and the remainder of the country.

The airfield has two terminals. The 1st has been open for a considerable time and is well developed with flights operating with major airlines including Lufthansa, Ryan Air, Swiss and Air Canada. Though the second terminal was only opened towards the end of 2010 it has facilities and services to match the existing terminal and handles flights with Delta, Continental, Aer Lingus and American Airlines.

In addition to the twenty 8 routes that run forwards and backwards from the UK, there is also over 100 routes to preferred destinations inside Europe. They've got a good range of travel choices for getting to the United States and beyond and there are even 1 or 2 services to the Middle East and North Africa.

If you have time to spare before you travel it is worth having a look around The Loop. This is Dublin Airports very own shopping mall. You can shop for fragrances, cosmetics, fashion, confectionery, keepsakes and travel essentials. The costs are good and there is a free shop and collect service where you should buy your items before you leave Eire and then collect them on your return in order that they don't take up extra space in your baggage.

You'll be spoiled choice-wise with bars and restaurants at each of the terminals. There's a wide range of coffee bars, junk food chains and sandwich bars to choose from with some of them being open twenty four hours a day. This suggests that you do not have to worry about getting hungry when waiting for a late night flight.

If you intend to travel somewhere else within the country once you have arrived you will either need to hire an automobile or catch a train. Engaging a automobile is quick and convenient at each of the terminals and it will give you flexibleness on your trip. If you would prefer to catch a train you may first need to make your way into the city center. This may be done either by taxi or on one of the good price and frequent bus and coach services that are generally available.

There's lots of accommodation to choose between in Dublin. If you're waiting overnight for a connecting flight there are hotels near to the airport but there are some great places to visit within the city if you are going to be around for a while. There are hotels in varied locations, in varying styles with varying costs and sight-seeing in the town is easy on foot or by public transport.

Ireland is a fantastic destination and a convenient position for stopping over in the middle of the long journey. Dublin Airfield is a convenient, modern and well appointed place to take your flights to and from and the facilities are unbeaten.
